CPU Upgrade

Hi I want to upgrade my CPU from my current AMD Phenom 9150e 1.8GHz Quad Core

To AMD Phenom II X4 850 Sk AM3 3.3Ghz

I've updated my BIOS to the latest here is a CPU-Z picture

And my current CPU is AM2+ and I believe AM3 cpus support AM2+ right?

Today i tried an AMD Phenom 960T but I got a mismatch error this maybe due to the fact that the CPU can support 6 Cores and my motherboard cant..

it's doubtful acer BIOS supports any CPU that was not sold as part of that Aspire series. It's in their best interest to prevent upgrades both for warranty and keeping the customer in the purchase a new PC cycle. your best bet would be to check an Acer forum with people who have upgraded their models and see what they did. Most likely you are stuck with phenom I series CPUs.

I've seen many forum posts saying it should work and such and people saying they ordered the item but no replies if it was successful or not. :S

Also seems like he's got the same Mobo as me and he's installed an Athlon II
