Thanks for viewing this post.

I recently installed CPU-Z for the first time, needless to say I'm a new user.

While examining the information under the various tabs, I noticed all the fields listed under the "Memory" tab are blank with the exception of the "size" field. It's reports "1024 MB"

My ram is Buffalo 512MB DDR400 CL2.5 NON-ECC. (x2 slots)

My MotherBoard is a Asus P5VDC-MX, Version 1.xx.

I don't know if additional specification of my computer are needed - if so, please let me know

Once again, thank you for your time and consideration.

Several reasons may cause CPU-Z not to report SPD information. The most common one is that CPU-Z was not able to get the SPD interface, because the chipset is unknown or unsupported by the program. That's why the same memory module can provide SPD information when installed in another motherboard, recognized by CPU-Z.
On a few memory modules, SPD information are not programmed at all. In this case, CPU-Z is not able to translate them, so nothing is reported.

Shouldn't be a problem, but if you suspect you have RAM troubles - or you just want to test your RAM - try Memtest.

It's not the SPD fields, it's the fields under the "Memory" tab.

Thanks for your suggestion to test my ram, I'm going to check it out.

I just ran across the same problem a few days ago when I attempted to help a neighbor determine the speed of his installed memory so that he could order additional modules that matched. In his case, however, in addition to the same blank fields on the Memory tab as previously described by ScottONanski, I noticed that his buss speed, as reported on the CPU tab, was erratically jumping over the range 40MHz to 100MHz.

For reference, I was using CPU-Z v1.39 on his old ASUS P5A motherboard running an AMD K6-III CPU. The two installed memory modules were both 128MB. Note that an older version of CPU-Z was used on his computer 3 years ago without incident, and his computer still runs daily.
