my laptop using old bios interface, maybe I'll update my bios later.
Thanks for your response.

My bad! I hadn't realized it was a laptop. I should read the post properly.

In this case, your Intel mobo and CPU have 2666mhz ram as default. If you put 3200mhz ram in, it will only run at 2666mhz. If your bios allows the change to 3200 speeds, then you are good to go. I know on my own gaming laptop, I can't change it. So I have 2 x 8hb sticks of 2666ram, which is the max supported by my mobo.

So buying 2666mhz ram is the way to go. Check your bios first to see if you can change the ram speed or set XMP to 3200, if not, then buy only 2666mhz ram.
Hey there,

I suspect you aren't using XMP. Your ram is rated at 3200mhz. Can you show the 'Mem ory ' tab? It's possibly going to show you that the ram is running at 1333mhz, which ios doubled for 2666. Task manager and HWinfo are actually showing the speed at 1333 (2666)

You need to go to your bios, and set XMP and your ram should run at 3200mhz.

So I have to buy DDR4-3200 instead of DDR4-2666?
