I originally had an i5-750 build that I was contemplating earlier in the summer but I've decided to save a little longer for a little more oomph. This build is around $1200 CAD, I'm not ordering anything now but within the next 5-6 months or if my current computers decides to kick the bucket. I hope prices drop on some of these components before then so I that costs go closer to $1000.

I think the build is pretty much final but I'd like some advice and maybe recommendations on the SSD. I'd primarily use it for as a boot/common-apps drive so I don't need too much space. I have been looking at the Intel x25-V/M but they are on both on the fringe of what I'm looking for (price vs performance).

First... What is this build for?? You are way out of balance in your system... (Too powerful of a CPU for a week GPU). I would recomend dropping down to the i5-750 and use the additional saving for a Nvidia GTX 460 1GB (EVGA is the preferred brand).

Second... As for a SSD, I would go with either the Intel X25-V or pick up this SSD (OCZ Agility 2 OCZSSD2-2AGTE60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)) instead.

Third... You have picked a triple-channel memory kit for a dual-channel setup. I would switch your RAM to this set... G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL7D-4GBRM

Fourth... With your build not planned for a few more months, I would highly recommend revisiting your build within two weeks of purchase. There may be better deals or new tech that makes this build not make sense. If you can save additional funds in that time period, you might be able to build an even better PC.

to be honest not a great build
1st the ram is triple channel and u have a dual channel mobo
2nd ssd for a budget like that is a fail
3rd if u r using the system for gaming there is no need for an i7
4th no need for extra fans
5th gpu is weak
6th lga 1156 is going to be replaced in q1 next year or so.
7th with an amd build you will save money for a better gpu
also fill out the stickie in my sig.

here is what i would get an x4 955 + a gigabyte 890xa ud3( if using 5850) or ASUS M4N98TD EVO(if using gtx 460)
4gb g.skill eco 1600 cl7 @1.35v
same hdd
an hd 5850 or gtx 460 1gb
a xfx 650w psu the $99 one
a good case i suggest the cm haf 922
