Crossfire Motherboard Running Nvidia Graphics Card

If I have a Crossfire motherboard running an Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080, how can I run dual GPU? The manual says that I can run dual GPU with Crossfire. Help?

(The motherboard is an MSI Z170A Pc Mate)

The motherboard will run a single 1080 just fine but you will not be able to run 2 in SLI since the 2nd slot only runs at 4x speeds and SLI requires the slots to run at atleast 8x.

So can I still run a second Nvidia Card at 4x?

It'll run but you wont ge able to use SLI to link the cards. For gaming the 2nd card could be used for physx in the few games that support it. DX12s multi gpu mode is along ways out from widespread usage (currently 1 game supports it), so for gaming the 2nd card is almost useless. There are rendering and mining programs that could utilize it with SLI. So it depends on what you are wanting to do with them

How can I link the Nvidia card? I believe that there are not enough PCI slots, so I'm just wondering.

If you want 2 1080s get a motherboard that supports SLI.

Ok, do you know any companies that can do this for me, or is it better if I do it myself?

You can do it yourself if you feel comfortable or find a local(hopefully knowledgable) shop to swap boards.
