Angela Merkel had better understood that video game industry is now bigger than movie industry. If she wants CDU to win the next election, she'd better shoot that ban down herself.

I had enough of both loony left liberals and religious right conservative dickheads. They all want to enforce their views and morals upon us in the form of laws, regulations and taxes no matter we like it or not. Rise and Shine, Libertarianism! Let freedom, common sense and individual responsibility reign supreme.

[citation][nom]philologos[/nom]Do you know what kind of porn is filmed in Germany? [/citation]

Is "Scheiße" a genre of pornographic movies?

[citation][nom]GAZZOO[/nom]The media, parents and sociaty in general are letting children experience horrors, death,so called realism, sex, adult theames before the age of 8 and 9 years they are getting acustomed to violance and are harder to shock I think that they should be targeting sencorship with the media and education, toy and game manufacturers with age limits for the young What they are doing is not right but it is a start to drawing atention to the problemGazz[/citation]

I prefer to give 9yo a .22LR rifle and teach them to hunt rabbits, squirrels and other small animals. Then I'll teach them how to gut the dead animal and peel the skin. After that, they'll learn basic arson skill so that they can dismember the poor animal and roast its body parts on fire started by bow drill technique. Banning guns don't matter, it just make things more funnier. Now we use slingshots, home-made crossbows and snare wires.

You gotta love the real thing.

[citation][nom]chaohsiangchen[/nom]Is "Scheiße" a genre of pornographic movies?[/citation]

Yep, otherwise known as "scat." If you don't know what this refers to, I'm afraid I refuse to offer a description. Also, I have three letters for you: GGG. But I've said too much.

It is ridiculous to ban an entire genre and as usual it is the uninformed conservatives whose exposure to video games ended with Pacman, who are clamoring for it. How about burning some books?

Btw, you guys must be so grateful to the Nazis. They let you conveniently forget the past atrocities committed by your own countries. The porn industry in the US is so far ahead of all other western countries. Just google a bit.

Angela Merkel is a dumb and overconfident bitch.

but hmm ... she won the election right ? ... Germans vote for her ... so hmm whos the dumb-est here ? ...

Personally, I think I'd like an official, written ban on gas chambers and human furnaces first, before a ban on action titles where comptuer-generated, fictional humans battle other computer-generated, fictional humans and their alien counterparts. That's just me, though.

Do the german people know about this planned ban? I have friends there, in fact one of em is comming to my place this weekend for a bit of lan gaming ... and I haven't heard of this before....

Guess now their car industry is going downhill, they're trying to shoot themselves in the other foot as well.

Perhaps games keeps people from actually going out and killing people?

If video games turned us into Psycho mass-murdering whore-killing & banging bike-riding car thieves (GTA Games), Then millions of us would be out there killing and raping anything that moved... causing total mayham, more than the cops can deal, etc.

Oh yeah, maybe 2-3 people "Game made me do it".

*thumbs up* great sentence

If we'd do irl as we do in games, I bet the world population would be down below 1 billion after the release of carmageddon back in the 90s

[citation][nom]gin Fushicho[/nom]Thats total Bull shit. What the hell is Germany thinking? They have the most violent past in history![/citation]
I agree... They should do everything to continue that legacy!

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]Exactly! WWII + Hitler any one?I think this is just denial in politicians parts. Anyways, hope Crytek can bring all the people on their move to some where else.[/citation]
How can you claim denial of a country so utterly dedicated to blaming itself for what happened more than 60 years ago that even some of the young generation feel like they are at fault?? You're way off dude, plus you're thinking about the whole of Germany being one an evil person. It's not Germany's decision to ban these games, it's the politician's. Same thing happened in Sweden with the anti-piracy law, as it wasn't the people's choice. Playing too much Wolfenstein tends to skew perspectives, eh? :)

[citation][nom]falchard[/nom]The only reason you have a business in Germany today is if you originally lived there. The cost to run a business is just so steep, and you lose nearly any profit for taxes, VAT and the like. I bet its something they wanted to do, but legislation like this is a nail in the coffin.[/citation]

LOL, yeah well I can see the good 'ol USA doing the same in the next 2 years. NO thanks to the new administration.

I can't wait to vote in 3.4 years again.

No violent acts against other humans? In that case they should ban the teaching of their nations history and can all news of whats going on in the world.

I live in Germany for last 8 years, and my perception is:
a) majority of Germans agrees with such laws
b) even without this laws most people here wollow this route

And regarding crime, Germany has much quieter country than US or GB.

P.S.
And I don't think Germans were more violent than, say, british or russians.
