The only reason you have a business in Germany today is if you originally lived there. The cost to run a business is just so steep, and you lose nearly any profit for taxes, VAT and the like. I bet its something they wanted to do, but legislation like this is a nail in the coffin.

Idiots blaming the games...they (the world) needs to wake up and quit giving people excuses for failing at life ie. shootings etc. All games are just entertainment.

This draws from research that states that young children are impressionable and may be susceptible to violent actions if seen from a young age. However, we already have things in place to keep children from buying these violent games, and if they still get their hands on them it's probably from an adult. Parents need to be the censorship for children, not a government.
ABTW, research also shows that people predisposed to violence often play those games, so the games themselves aren't necessarily the culprit of violence.
Although who did what research escapes me now because our stupid newsgroups like to say "research shows" and "experts say" and not tell us what research and which experts...

Its not about the past its about the future.
The children of today are haveing their sences nummed to the site of death gore and mutilation at younger ages as years go on
The media, parents and sociaty in general are letting children experience horrors, death,so called realism, sex, adult theames before the age of 8 and 9 years they are getting acustomed to violance and are harder to shock
I think that they should be targeting sencorship with the media and education, toy and game manufacturers with age limits for the young
What they are doing is not right but it is a start to drawing atention to the problem

thats why we should start another society for people who know how the world should work, and not live in some sort of "religious fanatic like" society that this world is quickly turning into. personally, i say screw humanitarinism, we have enough people on this planet.

That was so stupid, why do Germany want to ban violent games? Even though you take that action, it doesn't mean the world will be better.

I think this is silly. Completely.

Violent games ? Quoting Old Jerry L. Lewis:

"The Best way of reducing violence on television, is to stop broadcasting news".

First it was comics. It corrupts our children.
Then it was television. It will make our children dumb.
Heavy metal is the real crap, satanic and all. They will eat our children.
Now it is video games. It will make our children turn into KPA and Alien killers.

I hope Angela Merkel gets more sense into her head, and try to solve the immigration/social problems Germany have, instead of making sensacionalists and idiotic moves.

[citation][nom]gin Fushicho[/nom]Thats total Bull shit. What the hell is Germany thinking? They have the most violent past in history![/citation]
Exactly! WWII + Hitler any one?

I think this is just denial in politicians parts. Anyways, hope Crytek can bring all the people on their move to some where else.

Why would you want to live or conduct business in a nation that wants to stop creativity and entertainment values anyway? Move Crytek...

So if I go shoot some clay pigeons, I am more likely to kill other people violently? Ridiculous!

There are always going to be insane people who cant control themselves and that will never stop. Entertainment like playing Crytek games is not going to push me over the limits to kill my fellow man, no matter how many times I play the game. Just like Grisham novels dont make me become a murderer or reading Oz doesnt want to make become a dwarf! I dont want to throw a ring in a volcano after seeing LOTR movies either!

FFS, the average person can tell the difference from reality and the land of make believe. Because some nut out there cant, doesnt mean shielding him from violent portrayals would have kept him from being violent either.

You shield enough people from what wrong looks like, and you'll find that is all they will want to do! Why, because someone said I cant...

Anyone out there have children? You know what I mean by keeping them away from something... All my daughter wants to do in life is play with something I wont let her have. It is human nature to explore and find out things on their own....

If I dont let her climb stairs, that is all she wants to do when I am not looking. As soon as I give her want she wanted to get (like my TV remotes), she realizes that they werent that interesting and moves on... But not till after I let her take hold of the remote for instance first...

It is our basic human instinct to discover what we can on our own. Only reason we learn after experiencing life, do we finally avoid pitfalls we dont need to experience in order to abstain... Like why I dont want to skydive... I know without trying that it is dangerous and danger I choose to avoid, but I drive a car to work everyday which I choose to ignore the danger to accomplish other things, when driving a car everyday is just as dangerous at times if not worse...

Ahaha, Germany is the country with possibly the most gamers. If they banned any action games the politicians are blinding themselves from the truth of an important social and economic factor to their country.

Do you know what kind of porn is filmed in Germany? I thought this kind of politics was distinctively American. Unfortunately, that opinion is apparently a prejudice on my part.

You know, they're only banning games with violence against other humans. Crytek COULD just make games where you only kill aliens... In principle, though, I understand why they'd want to move.
