So, I currently have a Nvidia GTX 580 and really want to upgrade. I have done some prior research, but my dad requested I look on Tom's Hardware before buying a new GPU. I want to buy the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 G1 Gaming 3GB (currently listed for $229.99 on Amazon.com) but I'm not certain if there is a better graphics card for a similar price. I don't want to spend TOO much but still want something with quality.
I don't want anything AMD, I just don't trust them, but other than that I'm not very picky. I originally went with Gigabyte because I have a motherboard made by them that I have been VERY happy with.
I play on a 2560 x 1440 monitor with an i7 - 4790 processor. Thank you for any help you can give.

Also, I don't want to have to overclock anything, I just don't.

nps :)

True, but I already have 8gb RAM in my computer, adding even 3gb would still be plenty. I plan on getting more RAM soon too though anyway.

Yeah with the 6gb you could play at 4k resolution aswell. Or get the one I mentioned earlier the amd rx 480 with 4gb alot cheaper with almost same performance. Im tied myself between those two cards, but if you have the money to spend id go for the 6gb 1060

Sweet beans, man. Thanks for the input. Im going to leave this open in case anyone else has something to say.
I'll close it when I finally order my card.
Thank you

nps :)

I ended up getting the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming 6gb gpu. I did a little more research and have seen many more people say that it wasa great product. Plus its vr ready and can display 4 different 4k monitors or an 8k display, not that i have one. Thank you for all the help
