CyberpowerPC competitor recommendations?

Anyone know a good system builder like CyberpowerPC they can recommend? I want to have choices of parts and have them put it together. Thanks
 
I would check out a local builder.

Figure $60 per hour for 2-3 hours (depending upon complexity).

One way to judge the local builders is by the duration their business has survived. The NEW guy in my town has been in business in a storefront location for nearly 10 years.


Other wise, check systemax.com Systemax is the parent company of TigerDirect. The systemax computers don't have a lot of frills or options, but it is a good way to judge the competition on price.

You have to build through a forum, but the builder is fast with ideas and will really help you build a great PC. My brother got one from him and is very happy with it. His quote was ~200 bucks cheaper and I got to customize it alot more.

2-3 hours? Thats a long time. Took me 1 hour for my last one. Took me 15 minutes on one.

That just seems like a long time really.
 
2-3 hours is not unreasonable for a shop to build "including OS install" and test a system. Yes i can build a system in 15-20 min. but i would never be so haphazard with one of my customers pc's

Really what you should do is just research how to build one yourself, it is not too hard and I will answer any and all questions you have if you message me.
 
Falcon Northwest seems decent (and crazy expensive) but you don't have a ton of options with them. I think the other sites listed offer a lot more flexibility.
 
Falcon Northwest overclocks everything to the absolute maximum with custom built watercooling kits, and I mean they actually BUILD the radiators. Also they only use the best overclockable parts, the rest are either sent back or thrown out. They definitely go overboard, but they are the best.
 






I don't include OS install and Windows tweaking for that. The ones I can do in 15 minutes are normally like the ones I build for my grandparents and have a small form factor so all I really have to do is put in the mobo the HDD the DVD drive plug in like 4 things power wise and each compnent and pun on the HSF which I do clean and use AS5. The cable management on those are quite easy with nice spots to hide the cables. But I have gotten so acutstomed to building PCs that it doesn't take me 2-3 hours even with a XP install.

On my old system I did a rebuild and cleaning (dam souther Arizona dust) and it only took me 30 minutes to do that but I had the cables all set up. And then the XP install was about 15-20 minutes (I loves RAID 0) so that didn't add much time total.

Now if it was a gaming machine, putting it all together and managing the cables and making sure everything works only takes me an hour like my last build.

And yes I know that it turning on means nothing. IMy last build would turn off when I was playing heavy gaming (restart) which I narrowed down to the CPU voltage not being correctly in BIOS.

As for what he said I thought he meant building it as I said before I don't count OS and tweaking in building time.



They are way too over priced for what they are doing. Its nice and all to have them do that but still price wise its just insane like Alienware. Components are only normally 1/3 of the cost.

If only people would realize how easy it is to build a PC for less.

I ended up buying from Cyberpower again. It's for work, and if something dies, I need recourse, ie send it back or have them send me parts. I figured having Cyberpower is essentially building my own since I have to tinker with it so much to get it working.
 
Checked out Mwave...seems like you can be more specific with some of the items than www.cyberpowerpc.com in areas such as memory and HDD. Other items seem to be the same...IE - Case, CPU, PSU, GPU, etc.

I do want to note that they both have a B- (minus) rating.
Cyberpower has a 50/480 issues that were resolved or where the company relied on their TOS- for a 10.41%
MWave has a 16/66 issues that were resolved or where the company relied on their TOS- for a 24.24%

Mwave for a comparable system is about $600 more expensive...all things being equal I think im going for Cyberpowerpc...

ok i build systems - so do not call me i do not sell to THG people

i would go with biohazard i have a lot of respect for them

as far as the above list i would either not recommend them or i never heard of some them

falcon is fine but over priced - keep in mind many companies patrol all major sites and talk their stuff up - this is the only site we post at. Also little companies send employees out to drum up biz - you be surprised.

research it and price it!!! or build it yourself!

i would check out smooth creations a system tested there in dec for $5000 was a steal and really tough comptition for us. below is the review

used systems on ebay from velocity micro are a good deal there are tons of them since they pack them so poorly and best buy sells them = these are great fixer uppers we buy 10 to 20 a year to part out for cheapy systems for customers

while we list on ebay its really just for marketign sales are low - there are some other ebay sellers there reseach it and make sure they have lots of actual computer feedback - sometimes other peeps make similar ebay names and sell junk

best deal is on ebay


 
Went to all these sites, no one beats Cyber Power. iBuyPower comes in second and the others are just waste (over priced or lack of options), you might as well build your own computer if you can't choose between Cyber and iBuy.
