DDR2 & DDR3 Combo

can we use ram in DDR2 and DDR3 slots in gigabyte combo motherboard
eg...2GB in DDR2 slot and 4 GB in DDr3 slot...so will it give us 6gb??

If u can use both types of RAM, u can only have installed one or the other when u running the PC.

thanx for helpin out....one more thing...DDR3 Ram i bought is 1333MHz...my mother board ( http://www.flipkart.com/gigabyte-ga-g41m-combo-motherboard/p/itmd69wpepyuwhgb?pid=MBDD69WPZD7G7GQY )supports FSB 800, 1066, 1333 MHz but my processor (Core 2 Duo E7500) supports upto 1066Mhz
will the ram be fully efficient upto 1333Mhz or not?..

Its OK, because the mobo will down clock the RAM to 1066MHz.

To get it to 1333MHz, u would have to OC the RAM, but don't bother, the difference is not noticeable with your eye.

The difference in performance 1066 vs 1333 is next to nothing.

If u really want to speed things up, get an SSD and it will knock your socks off : )

DDR2 option was good for people that already have the RAM from older system.

DDR3 is faster,

but on your set up the difference would be noticeable only in the benchmarks, and those are far from reality.
