Hi,I decided to upgrade the kids computer from a Kd-500 so bought, from ebay, a jetway 830CN mboard & Athlon 850. I couldn't get the machine to install anything without disabling internal cache so tried swapping my Athlon 1400 to test it. The machine made lots of beeps, I didn't count them as I was trying to pull the plug out, & now won't switch on at all. My 1400 is ok, my PC still works but what have I done? & why WAS I having problems? Please help!!

Try this immediately on the motherboard.

1) Pull the power cord
2)
A) reset the cmos. Use jumper for 10-15 seconds before
returning to original pins (Read your manual)
or
B) place the battery in upside down for 10-15 seconds.
(return battery to original placement)

3) Try powering up again

4) Write back and tell us if there was an improvement.

Thanks, in this case the loving are DARLINGS!!!
I did wonder about CMOS but didn't see how it could kill PC.
Any ideas on the internal cache problem?

well something was not right in the bios and had to be returned to default...what that was...i have no clue...

3 386DX-25's...12 volts...glue some ln2 and a wicked amount of overclocking and you get a willamantee minus 36 pins, 33.75 million transistors and a couple hundred mhz... 😎

Hmm,

First the Mobo manual says that it supports processors
600->1.33 Athlon this leaves your 1400 out unless there is a bios upgrade.

WAG:
What memory are you using? Could it be PC-66? You need at least PC100.

Another WAG:
Are you trying to install Windows 95?
