I'm deciding which nvme should I buy. Here are my choices (feel free to suggest more) all are 1tb capacity:
  • WD SN770 - 46usd (free shipping)
  • Crucial P5 Plus - 60usd (free shipping)
  • Sabrent Rocket 4.0 - 60usd (free shipping)
  • Samsung 970 evo plus (not a gen4, but based on experience, my other ssd from Samsung is very durable). - 60 USD with shipping
Use Cases:
  • Gaming
  • Running executable apps (MS office, programming software, and other executable programs)
  • Storage (documents, photos, videos, and other important documents).

What do I want from the drive?
  • Durable (I can't afford to lose some important files)
  • Speed (I do not need high speed, but a good speed for its value is fine)
  • Thermal (I don't have an extra heatsink)

My board supports 2 gen4 m.2 slots. Currently, my main storage for os is the (Cardea Zero Z440). If the drive you suggest performs better than my current drive, I may change it to perform better.

**Feel free to suggest better alternatives. My budget is 50-80usd.
**I'm planning to use the lower end drive as a storage for my use cases. that's why I want the most durable drive within my budget range.

For your use case, Gen 4 vs Gen 3 does not matter.

Go for the 970.
sorry, i forgot to mention the price. in terms of good performance and its value, which of these should i buy? honestly, i think the Samsung is kinda overpriced compared to the other ones, but in terms of performance and durability, i don't know which is better.

It is not just the hardware. It is the included software also. Go with the Samsung.

If 46 vs 60 is significant for you, go with the WD. There is nothing really wrong with it.
Otherwise, the 970.
