Delerium Helm on Merc? Good in Uber-Tristram? Or Just Fun(..

I can make a Delerium for a merc in non-ladder. Thinking of putting it
on a merc when the wife and I head to uber-Tristram. Probably on my
zon's merc. My wife will play the zon.

But before I try it in Tristram I'll have to try it in regular play. I
figure with all the confuse, terror, and mind blasted that this might
be useful if the idiot minions appear. Sure as hell I think they will
be running, catatonic and maybe even fighting each other.

1% chance for delerium to be cast on merc? So he turns into a little
doll? My friend caal thinks the merc might be more vulnerable then.
Will the merc doll still be considered to have an insight stick while
in doll form, as well as everything else?

What can you all tell me about this fable piece of headgear? Might it
actually help,? Or will a merc doll cause me wrong problems at the
wrong time?

Aside from the (incredibly high) ROFL value that comes with being
turned into a Undead Stygian Doll, why the hell would any character or
mercenary want to morph like that!?!

If you have a rouge merc then her rate of fire will be unbelievably fast
when she transforms into a doll (she still shoots arrows, presumably out of
her head).

This is not good news to hear that mercs have a short life span in uber
tris. Do they get one hit killed or something?

I recall fighting the Diablo clone and my merc was dieing left and
right and it got to a point where I said the hell with it and just
faced off with him myself.

I was hoping the eth Duress/eth Obediance/Guillames Face combo would
get a lot of damage done and keep him hanging in there.

I cant really tell if they are "one hit killed". Things are happenning
so fast there. The one thing i know is that except for Mephisto fight
at my second attempt there, our mercenaries were dying fast.(and no
time to throw them potions...saddly)
My barbarian merc is clvl95. His gear is an ethereal 3162 def Stone
armor, BOTD ColossusBlade and, for the last couples of weeks, a 437 def
Spired Helm Delirium. Resistances all maxed. He would usualy die only
from Iron Maiden, bugged Vipers or extremely rare heavy boss pack. (or
really bad playing from my part...)

Maybe it will! It could be the good receipe! (How many life leech?)

Well, Duress, Obediance and Guillames Face don't have any life leech on
them at all. Without lifetap, I can't see any merc surviving long
against anything major that chose to pick on him.
With lifetap on the critters though he'd probably slaughter them. I'd
guess he would anyway.
