Our company purchased a Dell Laptop a couple of months ago. I wanted
to put a Parenting Wisely program on the PC, which required the use of
a USB security Dongle. When I insert the Dongle, Windows can't find
drivers to install it.
I've used the program and Dongle on 2 other PC's (that also have
Windows XP Pro, just like the laptop) and it worked great (Windows
autmatically installed it with no interaction from me or problems. It
just anounced that it found and installed new hardware and that it was
ready for use). I tried copying the driver files (inf, sys) that
windows is using on the other PC's over to the laptop, but it didn't
work.
The dongle seems like it should be a fairly easy piece of equipment
for Windows to install, so I don't understand why it is just having
problems on the laptop.
Also, the company did not provide a driver disk for the Dongle and
there are no drivers posted on their website.
Any advice anyone could give would be greatly appreciated!
