Hello,

Recently, I bought a used Dell Optiplex 7010 (i5 3rd gen 128 SSD) for regular internet browsing. however, I ran into a problem. When I turned on the computer and tried to use Windows 10 shutdown button PC went dark for a few seconds and then immediately started to show signing in screen and Windows were back on my screen almost immediately. Funny things happen with startup as well: when you plug in a PC to the socket it automatically starts up. I tried reinstalling Windows but that did not help. maybe there is something to do with systems jumpers? thing is when I cleaned it there was a jumper on the service mode pins. tried booting with a jumper on and off, but the problem still occurred. not sure what I can do.

Thank you all

If the OS came preinstalled with the used prebuilt, then I'd advise on seeing if your prebuilt has any BIOS updates pending, followed by any updates for your OS.

As for the system powering itself up after getting power, might want to go into BIOS and see what your APM(Power Management) options for After Power Loss is set to. Might also want to inspect the innards of the prebuilt and perhaps pass on a pic of the PSU that's in it.

When you say you tried "to use Windows 10 shutdown button", are you talking about clicking the Windows icon (or the old Start button) in the lower left hand corner of the Desktop and choosing shutdown from the menu, OR pressing the power button on the front of the computer?

I bought an ancient SFF Dell office a few years ago and the power button lights up green and the fans spin briefly as soon as mains power is applied, but it doesn't start booting into Windows until you press power button.

It might have something to do with keeping the machine ready for automated system updates in the middle of the night, when nobody is working in the office.
