Hi, Im currently using my old AOC G2460PF 144hz 24" and old MAG LCD 24".
I want to sell them both and buy 2 nice IPS screens.
I currently have 2 offers which are Dell P2419H (2 like this) or U2414H (2 like this), i can also buy one of each and mix them but it will probably be a bad idea :)

Im not gaming anymore (sad) so I dont need 144Hz, all I do is Youtube, Facebook, Coding, Movies and other basic stuff, I want a nice looking image with nice colors.

What's the diffrenece between these two models? they are both 24", IPS channel, made by Dell, and even same frame length (which is important to me because i will use 2 monitors one next to each other so a small frame is neceasry.

Thanks :)

I have the U2414H, and it's a good monitor, but I think the P2419H is the better pick here.

P is for Professional series, and is similar to the UltraSharp line, but generally without some of the more advanced color calibration features. However, the U2414H doesn't really have that either.

Both use an IPS panel, there's not going to be a significant difference in image quality. The U2414H is factory calibrated, but that isn't really very important unless you do print work.

The U2414H being an older model has some minor issues of its own, Dell monitors from that year had terrible unresponsive capacitive buttons for controls that only worked half the time, no auto-detecting input selection, so if you switch between laptop and desktop...

P2419H is the year model 2019 of the more budget-friendly P-series monitors from Dell.

U2414H is the year model 2014 of the more performance-oriented U-series monitors from Dell.

Both monitors are 24" in size. Both are FHD, 1920x1080 (1080p) monitors.
Do all the numbers make sense now...

U stands for Ultrasharp, and mainly use IPS panel technology.
P stands for Productivity (I think...).

They are not pretty much the same. I prefer Ultrasharp monitor, even though it's older by about 5 years. It is still going to look better. Brighter, more accurate color, better viewing angles...

What are your main uses for this monitor?

Older buggy DisplayPort controller with wake/sleep issues while daisy-chaining, and the daisy-chaining does not support DP++ adapters to DVI/HDMI. These issues are not present with newer models.

nice thanks, I search online and understood that S is kind of between P and U right?

S is really just intended for a different market segment. They usually have a glossy finish, but fewer ports and less port diversity. They also typically lack other functional elements like USB ports, adjustable stands, or VESA mounting holes. Usually intended for media or people who aren't power users.

There are also gaming monitors under the "S″ naming, which is a different crowd as well.

Glenwing,
Thanks for the explanation. Yes, those names are pure marketing...with Ultrasharp being the top end from like the year 2000 or something...

adarc8,
this brings me back to your use-case....you may not need/want a dell...these two monitors are not the only ones out there...

Well like I said I only use desktop works like browsing the internet, coding stuff, typing some university project.. I used to game a lot but for the last year I stopped, so I prefer selling my bad 144hz monitor which I bought it only because the 144hz but the actuall image is horrible, and also sell my old 2011 24" MAG screen, and buy 2 (used) nice IPS panels.
the things that are important to me is nice looking image (I dont need the best, im not really a pro in understanding how good image can be, for my whole life I used these simple LCD screens so going to even the cheapes IPS panel will probably be a massive upgrade for me), I also want the samllest frame length so when i combine two screen together, the black (no screen) line between them will be small as possible.

high refresh rate will be a nice improvment but i dont have the budget, I also dont have the budget to buy new monitors thats why im only buying used, therefore I dont have an unlimited variety of screens because it depends on the people that sell them.
My friend show me Lenovo i27-28 screen which looks extremly nice for my opinion. almost no frame, IPS, 75Hz and not that expensive.. but i dont find any one selling this, most of the people selling 24 Inch Dell screens, thats why im only intersted in them..

I will probably buy P2419H in around 120$ (used), and when i will find another screen like this or similar i will bough the second one.

Im not from the US, im from Israel.. so there's no point sending me used screens for sell :(
