My main PC is output to vintage audio gear so I've never used the audio output jack on this monitor.
I connected a small active speaker today and there is no signal going to the speaker. Speaker and cable are fine.

Please help as my intention is to use a small powered speaker setup for most of my non-audio-oriented PC chores.

Thanks very much for always solving my dilemmas!

Simple solution is to get a stereo Y cable and one side feeds vintage gear and the other feeds the powered speaker.

The reason the monitor is not getting audio is your PC is feeding the vintage audio through the " green " mini pin audio out and it defaults system audio there because your using that output.

If you unplugged the audio to the vintage stereo than you could send audio out through the HDMI to monitor and than it would make the monitor audio live.

But like I said a stereo Y cord you can set and forget and have both working just fine. Old audio guy here. :)

Thanks! I actually have the PC audio line going into a 2in x 4out box ---and also use stereo Ys all over the house! I did learn something today, however thanks to you, and that is good...
