[SOLVED] Desktop icons rearranging when connecting tv by HDMI

Hello,
recently I upgraded my tv with a samsung 49RU8000 (4k) and now I started facing an annoying issue, since when I connect the tv to my pc all the icons rearrange in a random way.
As monitor I have an Acer Predator XB271HU (1440p) and the tv is setted up to be an extension of the monitor; both are kept with their native resolution. They are both connected to a RTX 2080; the monitor through display port, while the tv through HDMI.
Previously I was doing the thing with an old full hd samsung (1080p) but the icons didn't rearrange.
Any idea to solve this issue? thanks in advance for the help

This is kind of a non answer but I also have a 1440p monitor and 4k tv hooked up to my 2070 super and I have the same issue when I switch between them. Been dealing with this for years, no idea how to fix it.

There's several programs that will let you save/restore icon positions on the desktop. One is DesktopOK.

Basically you set your icon layout how you like it and create a "save" in the program that you can later easily restore.

This won't fix your problem, but it's a work-around.

Checking in windows setting I think I've found the solution for my case.
The issue was connected to the fact that for the tv, windows was resizing the layout up to 300% while for the monitor the resize is only up to 100%.
Putting the resize to the same value the icons are not rearranging, they only shift up and down a little.
Obviosly the taskbar and other things are smaller on the tv but I'm my case it's not a problem
