Hi, i recently installed XP from windows 98. I have 3
accounts set up. All have the same programs on the
desktop. But my brother wants to customize his desktop
according to his needs. so when he deleted a shorcut from
his desktop, it also went from mine. why is this? and how
do you get around this problem?

regards

If a desktop shortcut icon appears on every users desktop, it means that
this shortcut has been placed in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Desktop folder.

You need to have each user move or copy these shortcuts to their own
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Desktop folder.
