I love that board...I just purchased all the stuff for my new build...now all I need is this mobo and the psu (OCZ 850 or 1000w Galaxy...still undecided).

Where is the 4 pin power connector? Or wait, did they just stick it beside the main power connection, never mind... Also, why is there RAM in the slots, but nothing else installed?

I think it is hidden behind the little heatsink, and net to the ?digital audio? out.

and I think it's 8 pins... =)

There is no 4 pin from what I can see. What's next to the 24 pin is a heatsink. As for why there is RAM in the slots... *shrug*

Seems my pin counting skills are sub-par. Behind the rear heatsink is about the only place I can see it being. As for the color(s) of the board, I like the black and although the slots being orange is a little ugly, who really cares, it a motherboard :) .

BTW, just saw this, hilarious: http://kontraband.com/show/show.asp?ID=4942&rtn=index-topten&nsfwfs=yes

I fail to see what so gimmicky about it. It looks simpler than Gigabytes DSQ with its myriad of heat pipes.
When I said gimmicky, it's because I think the only reason some of the connectors are that (IMO god-awful) orange and yellow is because they are UV sensitive.

For some weird reason, I think I'd be more ok with blue glow in the dark than orange and yellow. Perhaps because the case I'm thinking of getting also has blue neon, and I just don't want to get an orange case.

These are minor issues - but we've had too much time to mill over these minor issues with the long wait for release, LoL.

I'm already half-kicking myself for not getting a P965 earlier, as the prices haven't dropped from what I noticed, and the only reason I've been holding off was for the release of RD600.

Did mother also tell you: Once you go black you never come back?
😛

Actually Im loving the color scheme! But thats just me and my twisted taste for halloween
*Raises black power fist along with Ninja*

Here, another teaser for you guys:

Then you become pitchblack (names already been taken...thinkin...maybe...The chronicles of Ninja)

3lfk1ng, could you please resise the pic on top of the page, my work pc is on max resolution and I have to scroll because it's too big. No biggy, just annoying with my crappy ballmouse 😳

I love Lego. I still have all mine from when I was a kid. Stored in a box somewhere with all my other furniture that didn't fit into the new house.

Yeah I wish I still had my lego. I have plenty of orange and yellow blocks. I can simply build myself a rd600.

Assuming it OCs better than the 680i it would be a nice board I suppose. I sort of like the garrish colors in a way against the black PCB.

If that pic is the actual reference design for the R600 I'm not wowed by the layout. Put in crossfire or some dual GPU solution, then looking to the future possibly make use of the 3rd PCI-x16 slot for physics then you have a total of 1 vanilla PCI slot for expansion.

It could end up being a great board and even be enough to change my mind but going on layout alone I'm not swayed at all. I'll have to see benches and reviews I guess first.

Yeah me too on the colors. 😛 A black flame-painted case might look sweet with some orange LED's inside. If only they made more case fans and LED's in different colors...:-( I'm so SICK of blue.

I'll get you pics of my system. Just imagine...Everything black, with a bit of silver, and blue LED. Razer Copperhead, G15, Kandalf case, etc...

🙂 It looks gorgeous. But for my other systems I want some variety. Who wants to build black and blue time after time?
