Ok, now that's a little TOO hardcore. I could see making a screensaver, or using at as a wallpaper, or putting it on a Christmas card...

but hanging it on your wall? Absurd.

absurd? I think having all the components sitting here collecting dust because they havent released the rd600 is absurd. Do you know how it feels to wake up in the morning and check your email to see if zzf has auto notified the release of the rd600?

For some reason i wanna get a intel mobo. the new bad axe2 ee if you have too much time to think, you start thinking of other options.

Ninja has the money to be an early adopter... nothing wrong with that...

If I ever went SLI or XFire, it would be one card now, one a year later, which should give plenty of time for the drivers (hacked or not) to appear, hopefully...

It wasn't in reply to Ninja...and Ninja is 18...he either has money or an education...which means his money is most likely temporary or comes from parental unit(s). 😛 You never though, and I'm not ruling it out...there are 18 yr old millionaires. My ex's dad was a millionaire and never even graduated from HS. Had a tool and die company. But Ninja being a self-made man without a good start at a young age is relatively unlikely. You're trying to pick a fight right? This was a nice friendly thread. Please don't.

Thats ninjas line.

Ya think? I was talking to him...that's why I used it...to give him a taste of his own med.

I installed my Antozone AS-N1000 cooler on my 6150gpu NForce430 NB. Went from around 60 to about 40. Like an 20C or so degree drop in temps. How you like THEM apples? System stability already feels better. Crappy thing is I had a transistor in the way, the arm bracket was hitting it, it has a hole that I didn't need. So I took a pliers and bent the bracket up a bit. Beats filing/cutting it off. Now I can hopefully bend it back should I ever want to. 20 degrees C! $40 cooler though. :-(

What happened to Abit? I believe we shouldn't let old stuff like that, which no one in their right mind uses anymore, waste room and money on my mobo =(

Thousands of people wanted a legacy-free board, Abit tried to make two of them, and thousands of people bought them. Unfortunately, a company as large as Abit WAS needs to sell HUNDREDS of thousands of boards, and only the very small percentage of hardcore fanatics would buy a board without PS/2 port.

Tere are still plenty of people who still use PS/2 ports, I do for one as a mater of fact the mouse I use on my home computer (I am at work now) is around 8 years old and still works perfectly. Now serial or parallel ports I could do without I haven't use either in years, although my hardware lock that goes with my 3d Studio Max uses the serial printer port.

I'm a hardcore fanatic... I say we take a poll to see just what the percentage is... PS/2 is outdated. I don't think Dell even includes PS/2 mice with their new systems anymore do they? 😛 Eh, well...they shouldn't. Maybe it's time to take the plunge and upgrade your mouse Crashman. :-D

USB uses the same amount of electricity as a PS/2 mouse, but the nice thing is you can add bells and whistles like LED lights, fans to cool your hand, etc. I also believe it's...faster response? Maybe what they need to do is drop USB and PS/2 and make everything firewire. One gold standard.

Add a $15 adapter and drop $10 off the price of your board = upgrade to USB for $5.

PS/2 ports were in my opinion totally useless until I actually ended up in a situation where I needed the connections but was without them. Parallel transfer technology will be coming back into vogue as long as they can speed it up and miniaturize the ports. Its still a much better design in my opinion.

I hear what you mean. 😛 I suppose by now PS/2 ports are pretty cheap to put on a mobo, but it'd still be nice to have the extra room for say...an external sata port or external molex connection etc. I mean if it IS an enthusiast board...what's $60 for a solid USB gaming mouse anyway? If it's the best board available, people will still buy it.

I honestly don't think that many gamers don't have or aren't willing to buy a USB mouse when they spend around $300 on a board. If your decision to buy a top of the line board hinges on a legacy port then I guess maybe you should look at upgrading other key elements. If you're still using a serial port printer that uses hole-edged paper for instance...you might be a redneck. Or from a third world country.

BTW, anyone read this?

Doesn't the CIA already have that paper? 😛
