I'm not impressed until it's done on Hardcore Inferno. The first people to do so have my utmost respect.

They skipped everything that was skippable and coordinated the plan to make it as short as possible.

I can get to work in 7 minutes, if I drive 120 through side streets. That doesn't mean my commute is short.

The author of this article should be fired for having absolutely no understanding of how this game works. It isn't meant for you to clear the game on normal and then shelf it. Chances are really high that you won't even hit level cap in one run through on normal. This is my first time coming to this website (caught a link from a forum post on another site) and I can tell you already I won't ever be coming back based on this trash article.

Was accomplished by Asians because their servers aren't down all the damn time.

Btw thanks for the spoiler warning 👎 for those of us who haven't finished it yet

[citation][nom]halls[/nom]7 hours seems pretty short, but they no doubt skipped everything that wasn't directly tied to the main story. Also, this game is very replayable, so I'm not worried about how long the story takes. Hell, I probably beat SC2's campaign in ten hours but have been playing its multiplayer mode since it came out almost two years ago. If you've polished the basic gameplay to a shine, the story is just icing on the cake. I'm level 10 and I can't wait to keep playing later.[/citation]
Haven't played the release yet, but I was in the beta, and IMO the basic gameplay was just ok. Played as a singleplayer game it was even boring. Of course, it was designed as a multiplayer game, though why the NPCs only address one hero is a mystery. Besides, anything is fun with friends.

Everyone who thinks that these guys "Finished" the game are horribly wrong. Diablo 3 goes to level 60, and about 70% of the actual game unveils past the normal difficulty. A huge part of Normal is actually just a big tutorial. I'm curious to see how many hours till these guys finish the game on Inferno. Then, I'll start worrying about lenght.

Guys, Diablo 3 "normal" is not any longer that 7h WITH ALL movies, script... watched/listened. I am 2h into the game and already lv 17, playing solo. If we take that end of normal is around lv 30, i would say i am getting around 7h if not less on solo.

Speed runs are fun way of testing your skill, but not the 1st time you play the game after waiting for such a long time to see it LIVE. I am taking my time, like wine has to mature.

Eh do people even played the other 2 diablos? That's how it's ALWAYS is. NORMAL mode is beaten quickly then you move up a difficulty.

Eh.. it's hardly a surprise that it's so quickly beatable.
And I doubt it's all that re-playable (as in, will it still be even nearly as enjoyable a few years down the line?).
Starcraft 2 was a crappy rip-off of Starcraft, and I expected Blizzard to do the same with the Diablo franchise. Hence, I'm staying far away from this release - or, indeed, any other that gives the paying public an inferior product that comes with a heftier price tag of both money and convenience

Personally I think it sucks for them, I was playing my game open to public last night and I realized while its sometimes more entertaining with people around, you dont really get to enjoy the game, maps and everything else when you are busy being part of a group and rushing to end the quest. So now I play by myself and its definitely a lot more fun.

the thing I have about difficulty levels is they find stupid/ unrealistic ways to make enemies harder. don't just double their health or do other things that makes it take twice as long to kill them even if they stood still, instead have different levels of AI complexity that keeps damage and health the same but makes the opponent more skillful.

Even then the games should add more content on harder difficulties. A game's length is determined by the normal mode, adding a extra hard mode that makes you take 2 hours to go down a 40 foot hall way does not make the game truly longer, it just makes it boring as it becomes monotonous fighting endless waves of enemies where you do the same thing over and over to kill them.

A good example of how not to make a game longer is devil may cry series where you get crap like rolling a dice and having it randomly spawn enemies in the room, making you spend a while in the same place, fighting the same enemies over and over.

[citation][nom]maestintaolius[/nom]Well, what with the soulstones being destroyed at the end of D2, a little bit yeah.[/citation]

DAMNIT! Diablo 2 spoiler alert!

7 hours... [citation][nom]tical2399[/nom]Well not really surprising. Its the trend with games these days. Prettier visuals and shorter play time.[/citation]
