Different ram identified

I ordered this model of tripple channel pc3 12800 6gb 1600mhz ram. model = OCZ3P1600LV6GK
On the box and the ram that is what is identified. But when I run cpu-z this is indentified OCZ3G1600LV2G. Which is a cancelled model.

When I bought it from the store the case was actually open, but it was kept shut with an elastic band.

What should I do in this situation is there any other program I can use to check. Another thing, the the model identified in CPU-z is pc3-8500 (533mhz) which is very confusing since my ram should be pc3-1280.

Ya I do, but I jsut wanted to know if there's another program that can indetify, so I'm certain.

Also I have it set up at 1600mhz... But it's confusing because ddr3 at 1600mhz 8-8-8 timing is standard for 12800, while pc3 8500 is 1066 standard... That's why I want to know if there's another program to identify the ram BESIDES cpu-z or everest (everest doesnt display SPD for some reason), or someway to check on windows, Because It's possible that cpu-z is having bad compatibility.

My motherboard is the ex58 ud3r.

When I go into the bios and check out the ram frequency multiplier, it says the ram spd 1066mhz, and on stock I have to set it too 2:12 ratio to get 1680, Being my first build And me not knowing to much I'm assuming it should be a 1:1 ratio and the spd 1600mhz???

Sry to double post, but I think it's been confirmed. Downloaded CPu tweaker and checked spd and to my dismay model number = OCZ3G1600LV2G. Looks like I have to return the ram and replace it. Oh well not a big deal, but I just hope it isnt like this for all the OCZ3P1600LV6GK ram especially because it's the only good ram in my price range...

ummmm the *KIT* is "OCZ3P1600LV6GK" which is made up of 3 x "OCZ3G1600LV2G" - that is correct, and CPUZ is reporting SPD values the bios uses for bios and booting etc where as your memory should have EPP or equivalent values which are not listed with CPUZ etc

Just read about xmp, so cpu-z only shows the default bios memory timings, but that's not what it actually runs at?

Second, does that mean I have to set it to pc3-1280 or, or is putting it to 1600mhz and 8-8-8 timings good enough?

I have a 4GB kit of OCZ Platinum PC3-12800 and my mobo sets it at PC3-8500 by default. I believe this behavior is to guarantee your system POSTS/boots and to allow the (hopefully knowledgeable) owner to properly dial in the various settings. I'm looking at two sticks right now and each has a white sticker with the serial number and speed printed on it... additionally, there are holographs on the sticker that say "OCZ" to help prevent fraud.
