Dear THF, I just created my account here in hope of further possible troubleshooting regarding a strange networking problem.

Problem: Discord/Microsoft Teams/(STARFACE) is causing high ping spikes/jitter.
This shows as randomly repeated 0,2-0,5 second ping of 1000 or higher. The packet itself is not lost, which makes e.g. webbrowsing, gaming or remote support difficult as the results keep loading, the game kicking you because of excessive ping or freezing screen on remote support (tested on AnyDesk).

Temporary Solution: Using Discord/Microsoft Teams in browser.

Some information about my environment:
ISP: 200 Mbit down; 50 Mbit up Fiber connection
Router: FritzBox 7590
- Computer Information
Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 4GB VRAM
AMD Ryzen 9 3950X
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master
16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit (32GB total)
be quiet! Dark Power Pro P11 850W
Aorus NVMe SSD, PCIe 4.0 M.2 Typ 2280 - 1 TB (Main)
Windows 10 20H2, Build 19042.906
Intel® I211 Gigabit Network Connection (used wired connection)
Version: 12.18.11.1
Date: 16.07.2020
BIOS: F33c
Date: 17.02.2021

Further Information about the issue:
  • The Issue is only present on said computer
  • The Cables have already been checked with another laptop and is functioning properly (thus not router/cable problem, as far as I am concerned)
  • Cleaning the Cache, Disabling Hardware acceleration, reinstalling the programm did not fix the issue
  • Reinstalling Windows with the latest drivers of the Manufacturer
  • researching on the web resulted in "The Problem is too specific" Answers.
  • The issue can also be replicated on WiFi (integrated) and on the Realtek 2.5 Gbe Ethernet (Non Driver specific problem?)
  • Disabling the Windows-Firewall completely
  • resetting BIOS
The Issue can be replicated on demand using the following sites for testing

An example of said ping spikes/jitter:

Im not sure what else I can test, diagnose or troubleshoot so im hoping of some further information or help.

Any help is much appreciated - If needed I can provide further information about the problem.

Kind regards,
Chipyx

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Your motherboard is pending one more BIOS update, version F33i, which is step above what you currently have. See if you can flash to the latest BIOS version. By reinstalling the OS, did you fabricate your installer using Windows Media Creation Tools prior to formatting and reinstalling?

Thanks for the warm welcome, Lutfij.

Sadly the BIOS update did not resolve the issue.

I have also reset the BIOS and only changed the following values:
Full Screen Logo -> Disabled
Fastboot -> Enabled
CSM -> Disabled
XMP -> Profile1
SATA Mode -> Raid
SVM Mode -> Enabled

When reinstalling Windows I used the Windows Media Creation Tool to download the ISO and then flashed it onto my USB drive with Rufus - so yes.
