So I started up my computer this morning and found that it was running extremely slow, much slower than usual. I decided to take a look at the performance tab of task manager and WHAM:

Now I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure that isn't a very good thing.
Next I took a look the resource monitor, however I don't really understand what any of its information means, I just assume the big numbers are a bad thing:

Lastly, I looked at my windows processes to see how much disk space the processes were taking up:

The only thing I found there that stood out to me was the Service Host: "Local Service(Net..." part (the one that shows 19.0MBs), it would occasionally go up to about 100MBs before slowly going down, then shooting back up.

I don't know what most of this means, I just posted as much information as I could, if I missed something important let me know, I just want to know how I can fix this

Ok its possible defender was corrupt and needed to rebuild its database. I agree on checking the drive health as well, but its probably ok. Check your updates make sure they all installed.

Then reboot the PC, see if it does it again.

Did you let it run for a bit? it may be windows updates happening. Or windows updates are corrupted. I would check that first and see if it cleared up that way.

Next thing that can do it is a corrupt antivirus software, especially Windows Defender. What do you use?

Yeah I let it run for maybe 20-30 mins and it didn't change, I then restarted the computer and it went to 100% for about 15 mins, then went down to normal. So far its seems to be staying normal.

I use Windows Defender
