Windows 10 not loading after restarting, Verifying DMI POOL DATA.... A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl+alt+delete to continue.
This happened without any warning signs, such as a crashing, freezing or rude noises from the hard drive.
Have tried using Windows repair utilities' Automatic repair without success.
Contacted the mobo manufacturers support, no updates for the bios.
Have tried command prompt on the utilities' advanced options, and the disk seems to pass physical tests.
Have run:
Chkdsk
Fixboot
Fixmbr
Chkdsk c:\f\r\x
While running the tests, i could hear the drive spinning, so i have begun to lean away from a hardware issue.
Was able to navigate to a log file using the command prompt on the repair utility which indicated that it had passed physical tests, but it was here i discovered that hal.dll is corrupt.
And thats where i am stuck. I didnt want to go too deep into the commands as it is not familiar turf for me.
TIA
