That's normal, the display goes on the desk, sometimes on the pc, but never on it.

First - are you in a hut or a house?

Power is needed. Do you have electricity where you live? Yes? Plug it in and watch the dispaly [on the desk is much better than in the PC]

No power? Get your brother to pedal the bike hooked up to the generator faster....
