My 6700 XT works perfectly when gaming (fine performance, fine temps), but at random times the display will turn off and the GPU fans crank up to max speed. I've never even seen the second fan turn on even when playing AAA games at max settings with this GPU for over a year. This would happen when the PC has been on for a few minutes (idling. I haven't seen it do this during game time), or it would happen immediately after I turn it on.

Things I've tried:
  • Updating the driver
  • Reconnecting the power cable
  • Cleaning the PCIe connector

PC Specs:
Motherboard: MSI B560M-A PRO
CPU: i5 11400F
GPU: RX 6700 XT
CPU cooler: Deepcool AK400
Storage: 1TB Kioxia Exceria M.2 SSD
PSU: be quiet System Power 9 500w
RAM: Gskill Ripjaws 2x8GB
OS: Windows 10

This is a recuring problem;

What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard?

RAM: Gskill Ripjaws 2x8GB
Got a link to this ram kit?

Updating the driver
Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, Nvidia and AMD) in Safe Mode, then manually install the latest GPU driver sourced from AMD's support site, in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
