I get that he was trying to help but was giving out completely wrong information.

It is fine to be cautious and fine to ask questions when you don't know something, it is also great that you (and others) want to learn a new skill or how to do something yourself.

My issue is that he is trying to give out information as an expert when he clearly has no education and no experience in regards to what he is talking about.
I don't want you nor anyone else who reads this thread to think that the information he gave was at all correct.

Not loading the specific OEM supplied driver for your monitor or basic keyboard is one thing, but main system hardware/components should always have the specific driver, not whatever windows decides is close...
Yes, you do need a wireless card on a desktop computer to have wireless connection to your network. From my own personal experience, when I recently plugged in my PCIe wireless card, Windows recognized it right away and I didn't even have to install drivers for it. 9 times out of 10, Windows recognizes any hardware you put into the computer and will make it work properly. If Windows does not have drivers for something, it usually gives it a temporary, crappy, default driver.

I am glad you like to have your motherboard chipset and other parts work at less then 100%, the rest of us will choose to install the proper driver for our hardware, despite windows finding a "close enough" driver for it to work.

To be honest this is my first build so im so so so hmm whats the word, cautious i guess because im scared if i mess up something then everything will be ruined. P.S Don't you think that was a little harsh? I mean he was just trying to help.

Nice choice of words very smart person, and yeah it does seam logical to use your own motherboards driver instead of letting your own os do it thanks for your help 10/10 support we need more people like you seriously.

Of course I was not talking about graphics cards and such - of course those do need to be installed from the manufacturer's drivers. Anyways, here is device manager, which seems to have everything that would be installed from the motherboard drivers:

As I stated in my first post, I explicitly said Windows will provide temporary drivers. His question was if he would be able to connect to the Internet right away with his wireless adapter to download his wireless adapter drivers, or if he'd have to do ethernet, and I answered accordingly that yes, his wireless adapter would work right away.

I think you took what I said way out of context, and I certainly did not lie but told the truth that Windows does supply drivers. No where did I say they were the best drivers, but I was letting him know it would work and providing him my own experience with a wireless network adapter that works flawlessly.

BTW, here is another image:

What do you know, this is not a Windows driver. Windows actually detected my wireless adapter and installed the drivers for that specific adapter from the manufacturer. Funny, huh? This is not Windows XP, Windows is good at installing the actual drivers from the manufacturer.

In addition, here is more proof that Windows does get the correct drivers:

Notice that Windows initiates the device, which is when it uses the default Windows drivers, and then there is a timestamp at which Windows sends out an install request, which reaches the manufacturer, Windows then automatically downloads the drivers from the manufacturer. As you can see on the right, the driver is the official driver from the manufacturer, and is not a Windows-made driver. So I do have education on how Windows handles a new piece of hardware attached to the computer. All I did was plugged it into PCIe, and Windows did all that.

And yes, those are up-to-date drivers.

Well, I guess you're right, so you will be happy. It seems the Qualcomm is the default wireless driver for windows. But if it works properly and perfectly for me, I don't see how installing the manufacturer driver will help at all. You may say it will work better, but I like to know exact details on how. So how exactly does installing the manufacturer's wireless adapter driver make it perform better than the Windows driver? And how exactly does the manufacturer chipset driver make your computer "100%" in your terms? It's good enough you like to call me uneducated and inexperienced, but if you will not provide me with detailed education how will I learn?

lol me neither and all i wanna say btw is thanks so much for replying and trying to defend your claim you did good job thanks for support btw :) awesome person

Sorry about that, hopefully you can understand my own confusion.

haha dont worry i'll read over it. But it's just the guy made it seem more safe and faster instead windows doing it. Because it will just download the drivers and i can play away! :) But idk if windows is also gonna find my drivers :) but i will try his if his dont work then i'll try yours :) hopefully both work :) good bye freind!!!! 10/10

I think "safe" is a word out of context. It's not like Windows-issued drivers are dangerous, they just won't use the device to its full potential. But Windows built-in drivers are a necessity because without them, there would be no way to even access the Internet to download your drivers in the first place. If there were no Windows keyboard drivers, how would you be able to type in the keys and download your specific keyboard drivers (if you decide to)?
