[SOLVED] Does a 13 pin Slimline SATA to 22 pin SATA converter adapter lose performance?

I want to add HDD on my slot for optical disk drive in my laptop, but the ports are different so my question is if I use such adapter that will make it able to plug it in will my HDD lose performance(rd/wr speed)?

It's just a passive connection, ie no electronics, just wire to wire. Therefore there should be no performance penalty.
