If I bought this 46G IBM 7200RPM ATA100 harddrive and connnect this single drive to the HighPoint HPT370 controller and I mean just this one harddrive, no other harddisk on ide connecter just this IBM harddisk on the ata/100 primary port. Will it work normally like all IDE harddrive does?
I read some info about this but still not clear, if the harddisk work what kinda raid would my IBM be? it can't be raid 0 since it need at least 2 harddisk, the same for raid 1 and raid 0,1....I'm planning to buy this harddrive and I need to know if it will work the same as IDE harddisk before I buy...pls help

I have the same exact drive and motherboard. They work fine together. I also have a Pioneer 105s DVD drive on the secondary IDE channel alone and it works great also. 1 word of advice. In the BIOS, set the DMA setting to disabled for the channels if you are using Win2k. This is the only way to get 2000 to support the drive in DMA mode.

Can I connect the IBM ata/100 hd to ide port, will it work?
If so which one will perform better, on the ide or the ata/100 port?
