I know want to buy an asus desktop, swap out the psu and add a gpu. However idk if asus desktops use proprietary connectors. I know that dell and HP desktops use connectors like that.
The exact 1 I want to buy is the: ASUS Expert Center D5ASUS Expert Center D5 Tower.

EDIT: Thanks everyone for all the responses

Welcome to the forums and Happy New Year, newcomer!

ASUS Expert Center D5 Tower.
The SFF and MiniTower variatns have proprietary motherboards and as such proprietary connectors. The Tower variant should have regular EPS and 24pin main connectors;
going by images shown on Asus's own product page. You should consume them with a grain of salt since I can't seem to locate images or videos of a teardown for the prebuilt, nor the motherboard used.

In picture #6 it looks like standard 24 pin power supply to motherboard.

BUT and with a big BUT, IDK if ASUS does the HP propriety changing of the 3.5 v and the 5.0 volt and an added ground in that 24 pin connector.

That needs to be researched if the wiring follows standard power supply voltage pin out?
