Hi everyone,I was wondering, I accidentally connected my r9 280x graphic card to the sata part of the powersupply
Could this have burned my graphics card, since every time i try to connect it to the powersupply the whole pc won't turn on

the vga comes with 2 cables (each with 8 pins on one side and 2 connectors each with 3 pins on the other side): http://cdn.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Sapphire-R9-290-Tri-X-3.jpg

so i connected the white ones to the 4 pin female connector that is usually used to power up the case fan (i guess its not a sata cable, however in my powersupply there are two placess one called pcie and the other sata ..., so the 4 pin female was connected to these ones)

A power supply with an insufficient number and type of PCI Express supplementary power connectors to connect to the graphics card is an indication of insufficient power supply capacity to power that graphics card.

Using those 4-pin Molex to PCI-E adapter cables, that come with the graphics card, will just overload the power supply and the power supply will just remain off.

What's the brand and model number of your power supply unit?

Thermaltake 730W smart se, it does have enough pcie slots but the cables can be connected and disconnected and i lost them after I bought the powersupply, so could these molex burn the graphic card, on the powersupply side it was connected to 6 pins while pcie needs 8 pins
