Hi!

I am having the foll configuration PC:

Processor:Intel Core 2 Duo cpu E6850 @3GHz
Motherboard : Intel DG33FB
Ram : 2GB DDR2

My motherboard supports 4 slots for RAM and is upgradable upto 8Gb.Currently I am having DDR2 2 gb ram. Can I upgrade my Cpu to DDR3 RAM (upto 4gb).?? Does my Cpu support ddr3 ram??

Welcome to Tom's Forum! :)

Very few MOBO's have both DDR2 and DDR3 RAM DIMM slots. However, in your instance you have support for only DDR2 and DDR3 will not fit or work or is compatible with DDR2 DIMM slots. Further, 2GB on XP is plenty and I do not recommend XP 64-bit OS. IF you use Windows 7 I recommend a minimum of 4GB and 8GB requires a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Vista.

Your options:
As-is
4GB 2x2GB DDR2 Kit
8GB 4x4GB DDR2 Kit or Kits ; matching Frequency, CAS Timings and Voltage
