Does lost partition = bad disk?

WD Red 4TB NAS Hard Drive - 5400 RPM Class, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache, 3.5" - WD40EFRX

I have a lot of bad luck with hard drives. This one is less than two months old, and the partition has been lost. The warranty is still good until end of January.

Is it worth reformatting and restoring backup, or should I sent it back.

Edited to add:
I did a "surface scan" with Mini Tool and no bad sectors were detected. I tried to recover the partition with that tool, but it crashed and apparently the data is gone.

You could try maybe CrystalDiskInfo to check if theres any errors.

A lost partition might be due to some kind of data corruption, probably on the filesystem side of things? Were there any power loss or forced shutdowns during the period of the two months?

I think you would be better off RMA-ing that HDD, just to be sure, though.

I'm the OP answering this from someone else's account.

I accidentally pulled the drive out of the bay about a month ago, though there have been no problems since.

I was able to format and I will just do a restore to keep things simple.

Thanks for your assistance.
