Does OC void GPU Warranties? Galaxy/Evga.

Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if overclocking your video card voided your warranty. Im looking at a galaxy vs evga card on newegg and the difference is 20$. Galaxy comes with 2 years warranty, evga with limited lifetime.

So does OCing the Galaxy card void its 2 year warranty?
Does ocing the EVGA card void its lifetime limited warranty?

Yes, overclocking would void the warranties. If you buy a factory-overclocked graphics card, overclocking it higher on your own will also void the warranty.

Of course, that assumes that they can prove you were overclocking.

Unless the bios are flashed (or there are burn marks on it), EVGA will honor the warranty terms.

Im not sure how other brands apply, but MSI actually keep your card in warranty if you overclock using MSI Afterburner. I THINK once you start tweaking the power voltages however it will void warranty although im not certain on that one, it may still be covered.
