Question Does onboard wifi use pcie lanes?

I'm wondering if onboard Wi-Fi uses pcie lanes (I assume that it would) and of so does it use cpu or chipset lanes and how many? Thanks

It usually does. It really depends on the card but x1 is well enough. Here is an example.
