Question Does RAM speed matter?

At the moment i have 8GB DDR4 2666MHz and i wanted to know if i could purchase 8GB DDR4 3200MHz? Also does CPU limit RAM speed? Sorry im new to these things. And anything else i should know before buying?

i cannot find manual for your motherboard
if your motherboard support only 2666 mhz then there is no need to get 3000mhz
