Does the broadband internet connection disables other NIC ports in same pc?

Hello,
I have 2 NIC ports, one built in another in PCI slot. I have connected Built in NIC to broadband internet that need username and password and it works well, but another NIC card shows "A network cable is unplugged" even it works with the same internet connected RJ45 jack but internet does not connects as it's mac is not registered to ISP. But why the connection is not shown and says "network cable is unplugged" when connected to another computer in network from PCI NIC card, even Jack, cable comfiguration everything is ok?

Just ignore the error message -- or turn it off by going in to the connection and unticking the "show icon in notification area" box
