Does this Motherboard go well with an i5-6600?

Hello,
My current build has an Intel i5-3470 with an old gigabyte motherboard..
And I have 12GB of DDR3 RAM.

I'm planning to upgrade my build, and I can get these;
Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2 DDR3 LGA1151, Intel H110,
And an i5-6600. All I can pay for tbh.

And I might get a GTX 1060 6GB.

Do these go well together?

Thanks!

But you mentioned frame drops in BF4 and Hardline that you previously didn't get but now do. That tells me your PC may have other issues.

I would get the 1060 if I were you and then maybe clean up your PC, make sure your hard drive is optimized, get rid of any background programs, etc. Maybe even re-install windows.
The Gigabyte GA-H110M-DS2 is compatible with the i5-6600. It is recommended to run nothing higher than 1.35V for the ram.

In my opinion, unless you have something faulty with your current build, your cpu is still fine and most likely not worth the upgrade to an i5 6600.

The issue is,
I've had my i5-3470 for over 4 years now, It's getting old. I'm not saying it's not good,
But in most games I play such as Battlefield 4, Hardline, and others.. , I've been getting frame drops that weren't there before.

And now most games coming out in 2016 such as Battlefield 1, the minimum requirements for a CPU is an i5-6600K and a GTX 660.

I have a 2gb version of a GTX 960 strix. That's one of the reasons I'm upgrading to a 1060 6gb.
2GB of vram doesn't give much nowadays :/

Those requirements were for the beta where BF1 was not yet complete or optimized. I would be shocked if the game really needed that much processor to play. In fact it will likely work fine as there is not a massive performance jump between the last few processor generations.

If you're getting frame drops that weren't there before, its not because your processor is getting old. Processors do not wear out and in fact would be LONG obsolete before they perform less or start to fail. Most likely the issue is elsewhere in your system.

Oh okay, thanks for correcting me!
We went and asked EA Support about the system requirements, They confirmed that these are the minimum requirements for the Battlefield 1 game after the release.

OS: 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10
Processor (AMD): AMD FX-6350
Processor (Intel): Core i5 6600K
Memory: 8GB RAM
Graphics card (AMD): AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB
Graphics card (NVIDIA): nVidia GeForce GTX 660 2GB
DirectX: 11.0 Compatible video card or equivalent
Online Connection Requirements: 512 KBPS or faster Internet connection
Hard-drive space: 10GB

With my GTX 960 2gb, I was getting maximum 60fps on High settings, with lots of frames dropping

Okay, thanks for the help mate.
Appreciate it!

From someone who owns both a 3470 & a fx 6300 +clocked at 4.4ghZ which is much faster than a 6350) I can tell you that there's virtually nil performance difference between them in gaming.

That minimum spec of a 6600k on the Intel side & a 6350 on the amd side ia totally nonsensical & has had people on these forums who've just built 6500 rigs panicking unnecessarily.
Ignore those minimum specs, the only fairly weak aspect in your setup for here & now gaming is that 2gb 960.
