Question Don't know if this is possible

I have 2 nics in my windows 10 system (upgrade to 11 not possible and I probably wouldn't do it anyway). 1 is built-in Killer E2200 gigabit. The other is Realtek PCIe 2.5GBE. I want to use the 1GBPE for virtualbox only. I can set this in vbox. I also want to make windows stop trying to use it cuz it then slows my overall speed trying to do load balancing. How can I do this?

There is no way VirtualBox is doing load balancing for you automatically.

Most likely a driver issue.

Disregard the above. You need to adjust the metrics on the NIC you don't want Windows to use as a matter of course:

Higher numbers mean lower priority. Leave all other interfaces alone and set the 1GBE interface to a rather high number, like 50.

OK. I misunderstood a bit about OP's question.

Load balancing probably will happen for SMB copying/transferring, HTTP/HTTPS traffic probably won't.

You can open task manager and see if both NICs are used at the same time.
