Hello There,

I am in the market to build me some "new" gaming PCs and was curious as to what you could recommend for these PCs, Also I do have around $2,050 so yeah id like to use the money before I lose it...

PC#1:
i7 10700k - z490 Mobo
32GB of RAM
1080Ti 8GB (I was going to go for a 3070Ti, but consitering how the GPU market is right now... Proably best to find whatever I can get a bargain on, Yes I am aware that this is a 7 year old GPU)
500GB M.2 SSD (Boot Drive)
x2 1TB SSDs (Games + other stuff)
750W PSU

If there was any money left over I was wanting to get enough parts to get a PC to boot to bios while waiting for other parts

PC#2:
i7 6800k - x99 Mobo?
24-32GB of RAM (undecided)
GPU: Undecied, I know I want an 8GB model, But not from Gigabyte or Zotac.. POS
480GB SSD (Boot Drive)
2TB SSD (Games + Music, etc)....
750W PSU

if its for gaming then 16GB ram is plenty enough, i have 32GB since 2017 and it never went past 16GB mark while gaming
1080ti isnt bad card for DX11 games, in DX12 its loosing performance compared to RTX which are native DX12 cards

RTX 3070 non ti sells for $1K which could somewhat fit

its 200bucks over, you can drop those 2 1TB drives, which can be purchased later on
11700k sells for about same as 10700K while having higher boost clock

for a much more organized setup, go for 2-4TB SATA III 2.5" storage for games only drive.

while 11700K may be a good choice at the moment,
currently allows my RTX 3080 Ti to max out every game at 120fps / 3440x1440p,
many developers are desiging for the 12th gen multi-core multi-function design now.
you should aim for i7-12700K with Z690.

and for a GPU that can really benefit from this setup and give you a better experience;
you will need at least a nicer 850w model power supply.

Keep in mine I wondered if I could build 2 PCs (both for Gaming) while one is built, I could be collecting parts for other PC, also is an i7 6800k and a 980Ti (6GB) out of date? or no...

Suggesting an 11700k seems weird to me to say the least, concidering the new 12th gen i5 12400f outperforms it easily and is almost 200$ cheaper. Not just that you don't have much room to ugprade this processor, the i9 11900k is barely any faster and ridiculously priced. The 12400F has litteraly outperformed the 11900 in certain games. Have you been keeping up with recent releases at all?

Also i find the 2 x 1 TB ssd suggestion rather odd. I'd go for a single 2 TB because it's cheaper.

Well Now i'll look into a single 2TB SDD, Because mechanical HDDs have a tendency to load games slower, No I have tried to play any newer titles. Because my PC in it's current config would be able to keep up or produce decent FPS, also is a i7 10700k a bad choice for a CPU? since that's what I wanted to get from the getco.. And I still wanted to "attempt" a second PC build, If an i7 6800k is out of the picture, could a i7 8700k work better?

For him it's dream pc. About getting i5 12400f, keep in mind motherboard prices and compatibile ram.
For games, hdd isnt an option. Better go with 1Tb 970Evo If you go for i7 10th gen or 1Tb 980 Pro If you go for i7 11th gen.

Yea, sorry I tried to find a creative title for this post, but couldn't so that's where the "Dream PC" came from and I'd have thought a i7 10700k is still relative but I get an i7 6800k out of date, So I think I'll try to get a i7 8700k instead...

I made this post because I was curious as to see if I can build 2 PCs for $2050, by build I mean to get one fully complete, while having enough parts laying around to get a second PC up and running, I would still need a GPU and Storage + a case to put everything into... i currently have a backup system with an overclocked i7-8700K & a GTX 1080 Ti and it struggles for high fps rates in games with higher settings @ 1440p.

for your storage i would get a nicer ~512GB M.2 NVMe for OS & applications and a 2-4TB SATA III SSD for games.
a 1TB drive will fill up very quickly even if only installing weekly free games offered by a distributor like Epic Games.

I tend to avoid Gigabyte branded GPUs and Mobos due to cost cutting and bad construction of the product, Like my 590 GPU that's "broken" which annoys me, but oh well

I have thought about which GPUs I wanted in the PCs given the current crisis that is COVID + GPU Shortages, I will mostly be looking into a MSI RX 480 8GB and a Nvidia 1080Ti 11GB, now yes I now these cards are out of date but when you consider how much newer GPUs cost these will work... But another question arose if i bought those two GPUs would i have enough money to get the remaining parts needed?

I just picked the Hyper 212 Evo, because it's a generic CPU cooler... If there is a better cooler that's in the same price range as the 212 Evo, let me know and I'll look into it

cooling solutions and power supplies are two options that you definitely do not want to skimp on just to save a few bucks.

And would and 850Watt PSU work for the 10700k system and could a 750Watt work with the 8700k system?

If so I found a few PSUs that could fit the bill? since the 8700k system might not have a GPU for a while + given the current economy I guess it's just best to see what I can find for a "reasonable" price and the seller shows prove of the GPU "working" then I'll think it will be fine
