Should i install them? Is this risky? Does this affect pc performance? Thanks!
1| Avoid Norton
2| If you want to install drivers, you source them from your board's support site, then manually install them in an elevated command.

which has a gigabyte a620m motherboard

Gigabyte have a number of matx boards under the A620 chipset, which on do you have? You might want to also cross check the PCB revision number on your motherboard so you have the right BIOS version for your motherboard.

Hello, I recently bought a new pc which has a gigabyte a620m motherboard, ryzen 5 7500F cpu and rtx 4060. I just installed gigabyte control center to change my rgb colors and i came across this tab where it says to install these drivers and there is no current version to them. Should i install them? Is this risky? Does this affect pc performance? Thanks!
Install the drivers. They are important parts of your PC.
Software is optional. You don't need them but some are part of GCC itself.
Norton is really not neccessary and not recommended.

You can keep drivers up to date manually, or let GCC find updates for you to install.
Either way is fine. Just pick one way and be consistent because mixing manual and automatic driver updates can become very confusing.

BIOS/firmware updates are slightly risky. Your PC is new so maybe the BIOS on the motherboard is outdated, esp. if you built it yourself.
You should update the BIOS to the latest version and then leave it that way.

When updating BIOS using GCC:
- uncheck every other update except the BIOS one
- GCC will restart your computer and enter BIOS, then warn you not to shut down or restart the PC while BIOS flashing is in progress
- after 1-5 minutes, your PC will restart; enter BIOS by pressing F2 or Del
- select the "Load optimized defaults" option to reset settings, then Save & Exit
- your PC will start normally

Sorry what do you mean in this sentence?

My bios version is f4 which was released on 10 july 2023, the latest bios version for this motherboard is
F24c released on 22 apr 2024, do you think i should upgrade to it?
Also does the gcc automatically download the correct driver for my exact motherboard version/rev because i am seeing that i have rev 1.0 and rev 1.1 and 1.2 also exist.
I can see that the gcc provides some different drivers which are not available if i want to manually download them for gigabyte site like: cFosSpeed and Amd ryzen master and smart backup, so should i download them manually or trust gcc.

GCC offers to install drivers, software and firmware. You always want to install all drivers and keep them up to date.
Software you don't need. Software is various tools and utilities for things like RGB, networking, audio, etc. Your computer will work without them, but they can be useful additions. Without drivers, your hardware doesn't work so you need drivers. Software is optional.

My suggestion is to install all software except Norton. Because Norton is a trial version of an anti virus suite, and it's not very good.

Yes. It's a lot of updates and fixes.

That's the biggest benefit of using GCC. It can find all the correct stuff. Finding it manually is more difficult.

I have installed some drivers manualy. The nvidia Game Ready drivers offered by nvidia were more recent than the version offered by GCC, so i installed manually from nvidia.
GCC recognized that i have more recent drivers installed and stopped offering their version.

So i'd say you can trust GCC to handle the drivers, but if you want the latest drivers, or beta version drivers, you can install them yourself. Either way works.
