I love to see direct consumer/producer commuinication pubically.
Really nice, but I have enough trouble buying food right now thank you (maybe spending $3,000 on tech a few months back may have been a bad idea).

Sexy system.
And honestly, do you expect even %50 of chips to last 3 years of daily heavy use at 4.0GHz? Hell, my i7 can't even touch 4.0 at an insane 1.5V, and it's a D0, there are always a few bad chips.

I completely understand even a veteran wanting to buy a premade system though. Cable management is a bitch. Testing which stick of RAM went unstable is too. And worst of all, trying to deal with several companies at once for RMA's and the such is a pain (I have a unstable 2GB DDR3 1600 stick laying around just because I'm to lazy to get the manufacturer to replae it).

Hahaha, cute. We've been selling overclocked systems since 2002. There's a myriad of reviews and Editor's Choice awards we've won with our overclocked systems. Try to keep up, we've already discussed this in this thread. 😉

Chris... let me apologize for the ignorance displayed by my peers. It's quite obvious these people have no experience in business nor do the comprehension level to understand consistency. A lot of them actually have the mentality I had when I was a teenager, quantity over quality.

In a business you have to analyze many aspects and price a system accordingly to hit the price "sweet spot". Basically where you will sell the system in high enough quantities and make enough profit per machine while not pricing yourself out of the market. On top of that you have to ensure you purchase quality components and have enough on hand in case of a failure. I want some of you idiots claiming it's a ripoff to start a PC company, OC the hell out of the machine then warranty them when they fail 😉

The cases are just Silverstone cases modded. on their "Shift" line they even use the Raven Rv-01! Which is a nice nice case, have one myself! :)

Chris,

If i may make a suggestion - eliminate the Jersey Shore blue neon lights.

This is the one thing that puts me off from ordering from compaines. I wish that fad would just die... along with Twitter.

Ambictus...your note is written with a silly highbrow tone. And your assertion that folks critical of Chris have no business knowledge is bogus. I actually have an MBA, perhaps you do too. Use yours and recognize the lack of value provided to users by Tom's writing a single news blurb about a single manufacturer without the associated market perspective Tom's is known for. Several responders have posted the excesses present in this product offering, but as long a a company is reviewed out of market context, the conclusions are suspect at best. What we need here is a matrix of pre-built manufacturers with respective prices, warranties, features, cost per feature changes, etc. This single manufacturer's review must have a reason to have been written, but so far, it looks to me like the author may have some stake in Chris' success.

Nobody is being forced to buy any of these products. As long as these continue to sell, there is no reason for it to become any cheaper, nor waste time complaining about it not being so.

Touche.
If someone thinks they can buy/make one for cheaper, well bully for them. If I could make something, sell it for more than other people and still have customers knocking on the door I would too.

Personally i believe that this particular pc doesnt need to be watercooled as there is not enough overclocking from the manufacturer, BUT, i then thought that they are just providing a solid base for enthusiast overclockers to do some serious work on a platform like this.

I agree that it would make an excellent starting point to overclock further, but wouldn't an enthusiast overclocker more likely be the kind of person who custom builds to his own specific requirements?
I think this machine would be more for the person who has more money than tinkering time.

I would also guess that people who would shell out this kind of money for this system would not know that the overclock they receive is minimal.
