I'm trying to dual-boot with Kali Linux which I've just burnt to a disc but my PC isn't booting from it. I've set the CD drive as the first boot option in BIOS but it is still not working and my PC is just booting to Windows 7. What should I do?

Yes, yes, I know it isn't going to end well but I'm curious. I did burn it as an ISO file.

You could try a usb, although in my experience making a LiveUSB from the Windows side seems to give me less luck.

What type of board do you have? For example, in part of my BIOS there is a specific section where I can force it to try and boot from where I want (called "Boot Override" I think). Try disabling Fast Startup (in the power options in Windows, advanced settings, towards the top of that area). Maybe disable secure boot as well in the BIOS
