All of a sudden my dvd/cd drive won't work. It has the
driver and sees the drive, but when I try to use it is
returns an "error 41 device not found". Anyone have any
ideas?

if you have recently d-loaded windows service packs, get rid of em. They
currupted mine as well.

That is not recommended. Don't post such a stupid idea.

Please try this:

Remove the device from Device Manager (Start-Run-devmgmt.msc) by
expanding the DVD\CD Drives, then right click on the problematic
drive(s) and click uninstall. Now reboot and it should redetect and
install your drive(s).
