dvd freeze

i am having problems playing dvd movies on my dvd/cd-r drive. it will play
music but once i put in a dvd it will read it then freeze up and then once i
push the eject button the computer will reboot. is this due to a virus or
something. please help. thanks.

This is unlikely to be caused by a virus. It is more likely that the
drive is failing. Test by swapping out for a known-working drive. You
can also test by putting the questionable drive in another machine.
