Question DVI to HDMI question

Regardimg older cards with dvi out, some support audio in their own special way, though the official dvi spec says nothing of audio. Does this mean any dvi to hdmi adapter will work, that is tramsfer audio to a capable monitor? Or is there at least the possibility that some cards require a proprietary dci to hdmi adapter?

As I think on it I can't see why that (the latter) should be the case. But it never hurts to ask.

if the GPU is supporting audio via DVI, then the adapter won´t matter. All will provide the audio signal as well.

DVI-D is the spec with audio. It's digital only and doesn't carry analog VGA compatibility.
