Dying Light constant stuttering

So i am here trying to play Dying Light the whole day with no success. There is a constant stuttering (not a micro-stuttering at all) every 2 seconds resulting in an unplayable gameplay.
My basic setup is: Intel Core i7 920 (not OC), 12 gb DDR3 RAM, Asus GTX 970.
Yes, i know my CPU is obsolete, still i can play all latest games like Unity, Far Cry 4, etc. at 1920x1080, all maxed out at 40-55fps. I am also attaching a picture of my Afterburner which shows these GPU ups-downs when stuttering occurs.
Forgot to say that every single change i make in video settings has no result, stuttering is still there.
Anyone has the same problem?

Dying Light runs really well on my PC. I don't have any noticeable frame drops. I may have seen it drop for a split second when it was saving, but other than that it runs really well. I haven't bothered to run FRAPS carefully, so I can't report numbers, except that when I did run it with FRAPS it was getting 60 FPS. I will admit that when I put in the view distance to 100% it was laggy, but I couldn't see a difference between 50% and 100% view distance to be honest. I am running everything else on high. I haven't tried medium.

My specs:

i7 4970K 4.0 GHz (not OC)
MSI GTX 970 (OC)
16 GB DDR3 1600

As i said i tried every single adjust and every combination in video settings.
Stuttering is there, like clock ticking every 2 secs. It even happens in main menu.

Reinstalled 2 times already, updated to the latest nvidia drivers (347.25), DSR is not enabled.
Guess what, nothing's changed...

What a question... You think i am that dumb posting in a forum for a cracked game?
Plus in my country steam DL is 10 euros cheaper, 29.99. Pretty damn low price for a day one AAA game don't you think.

If even on a 970 with latest driver that has Dying Light performance tweaks you get performance problems, let WB and Techland know. The more that submit tickets, the more chance of a performance patch.

Meanwhile try disabling the film grain effect via the file edit, and if that doesn't smooth things out, try disabling sun (dynamic) shadows via the same method. Hopefully they'll make a performance patch, but I'm not counting on it. Despite their name, "Tech"land are not that good at technical polish.

Other than that, Vsync, Shadow Map size, Foliage Quality, and especially Draw Distance, can affect performance. Draw Distance in this game is also NOT how far the view is drawn, but how detailed it is at far distances. It's merely a LOD setting. I have mine set to 0% on my 7970 and it's not that much of a visual difference really.

I didn't mean to offend however you would be surprised how many request assistance for a cracked game but don't disclose it on the forum until they're asked...

I bought the game on steam and I don't have any problems with the game. I heard people with AMD system are experiencing issues and the problem might because of the lower single performance however i'm not sure.

If the game stutters on low settings there can be many reasons for your problem... It could be because of your cpu and platform. The CPU is below the min requirements but i don't know because I've never tried the game with your CPU and motherboard.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit / Windows 8 64-bit / Windows 8.1 64-bit.
Processor: Intel Core i5-2500 @3.3 GHz / AMD FX-8320 @3.5 GHz.

BTW, use the so called "sun" shadow disable tweak as a last resort. It actually disables ALL shadows I found, even indoors.

Techland calling them "sun" shadows is just the kind of weird sense of tech I was talking about earlier. Very strange wording.

Guys, thanks a lot for your answers, i really appreciate it.
Tried every single tweak you suggested with no success, but as i said before, problem exists not only in-game but in the main menu too,BEFORE i even start a new game.
I was recording with fraps and my fps keep at 40-45 in-game, it's the constant "like a clock " stuttering that ruins everything.
A friend of mine installed it yesterday with a Intel Q9550, 8GB RAM and a Radeon 7970 3GB and he stands at 30fps stable (full settings 0% draw distance).
I'm really done with this game until a fix or workaround is released...

Windows 7 64.
While i was experimenting with the affinity (task manager) i found out that when i tick-untick cores, stuttering is changing it's stutter-pattern, for example, when i leave cores 0,1,2,3 ticked stuttering occurs every 5 secs or something but it doesn't go off completely.
It's has to be a CPU optimizing problem because when i am alt-tabbing and the game goes to backround there's no stuttering at all!
Techland pls....

Yeah... i hope it really fixes those performance problems and bugs, my problem is not one of them though..... sigh..
I guess i'll have to wait for another patch...

I think I'm having the same issues as you. But mine only happens like in a few minutes. Even after the patch, it's still the same.

My spec:

core i7 4790k
gtx 970
16gb ram.

i'm facing the exact same problem.. i tried the 1.2.1 update but got no difference.. 🙁

i5 4570 3.2Ghz
8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
GTX 660 2GB

hey riblee i got the exact same cpu as you, except 16gb of ram and a r9 290. I haven't overclocked the cpu as well. Whats your steam? wanna keep in contact, see if one of us manages to get the game fixed?

Hey tuunade sorry for replying late, i did a format yesterday (after 4 or 5 years), hoping for something better still no change. Unfortunately i share my account with a friend (the Q9550 guy i mentioned above) so it's really not up to me.
I will continue providing feedback here though.

Hello Riblee,

Your not alone. I am having the exact same problem.

When am at the main menu, the stuttering starts. A very bad stuttering that makes it impossible to even think about playing the game that way!!! It is simply unplayable.

My Sepcs are:
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
* Up to date.
CPU: QuadCore Intel Core i7-3820, 3800 MHz
MB: Asus X79-Deluxe
* BIOS Version is 0902
* There are no drivers issues or incompatibilities.
RAM: 16GB DDR3-1333 Corsair Vengeance LP (Tested at 1600)
SSD: 500GB Samsung 840 Pro
* 0 Fragmented and over 100GB of free space
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Zx
* Driver Currently used: 6.0.102.32
Graphics Card: SAPPHIRE HD 7970 GHz Edition 3GB GDDR5 VAPOR-X
* Driver currently used: Amd Catalyst omega 14.12
PSU: Corsair HX750

I would like to say that this rig worked like a charm until two recent incidents:

1. When I play Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Multiplayer and on only certain maps, maps like Defender and two more other maps. The game kinda locks up a bit or freezes then releases when the round starts and then it goes back normal. But this problem keeps happening while playing but not as bad as when the round first starts. I was told that the maps were not optimized!!!!.
* Knowing that the Single Mode was very smooth play.

2. Dying Light, which I couldn't until this very second play it, coz the stuttering makes it impossible for me to do anything.

Knowing that my PC is not overclocked and never really tried to do it!. Also, wanna say that almost every other popular game out there runs so smooth on this thing except for Techland's trash and some of Sledgehammer's crappy MP maps .

Like what riblee did here, I tried every single solution I could think of, all failed.

I even submitted my PC diagnostic report to Techland so they could see where they F'ed up for all the millions of Radeon users!!!!! They promised a fix in an email they sent like every other developer would say!!. Later same week, they released two patches #1.2.1 then #1.3.0 and guess what!!! Nothing is done about this constant stuttering yet!!

That is the whole story ..... so far! We are stuck...still!
