Dying monitor?

I have a 20.1" Sceptre.

Scenario:
1. Turn on computer
2. Turn on monitor
3. Monitor stays black but the power light flashes on and off
4. Computer boots up normally
5. After 20mins-1hour, monitor finally displays desktop and everything works again
...
6. Turn off computer and monitor. Go to sleep.
7. Wake up, turn on monitor and computer.
8. Repeat steps 1-6. Add 30 mins to step 5 per day. (Up until now it takes a few hours for it to work. Right now it won't even turn on)

*I have plugged my monitor into another computer that has no GFX only to get the same result.

Yeah, it seems like there's some type of issue with your monitor's electronics. Could be something a simple as a couple of bad capacitors or the circuit board is dying.

You can try to bring it an electronics repair shop and get an estimate. Then decide of it is worth repairing or buying a new monitor. Just be aware that the actual cost could be more than the estimate.

Figured as much. I think I'm just going to get a new monitor, repairing it isn't worth the hassle, since I can get a 21.5" 1080P Hanns LCD for only $120. Thanks.
